Digital Chromogenic Print, 1/10, 8x12"
Treadwell contains an amazing body of work by photographer Andrea Modica. In addition to an essay by E. Annie Proulx and introduction by Maria Morris Hambourg. Modica spent years photographing a young girl, Barbara, and her semi-nomadic family in various small towns throughout upstate New York. Treadwell presents 40 incredible, duotone photographs exploring the human condition. Modica works with a cumbersome 8x10 view camera but the work she produces is intimate, evocative, and unimposing. The book is long sold out and eagerly sought after. Book and dust jacket in mint condition. Boldly signed on title page.
"I know how hard it is to make pictures as deliberate and sensual, as real and mystical as these. But when Andrea Modica does it they seem effortless, unforced, like radiant gifts." –Sally Mann.
Up for bid is an original photograph of the above described book by artist, Erik Dalzen. The photograph measures 8x12 inches. Limited edition. Signed, numbered (1/10), and dated on the back.
