Graflex 3-Cell Flash Star Wars Lightsaber, 2008
Ink on Paper, 8.5x5"

Up for bid is an original drawing rendered from a Graflex 3-cell flash unit by artist, Erik Dalzen. The piece is titled, Graflex 3-Cell Flash Star Wars Lightsaber. India ink on Strathmore acid free 70lb drawing paper. The drawing measures 8.5x5 inches. Unique. Signed and dated on the back.

The Graflex 3-cell flash, manufactured from 1941-1950, was a popular accessory to Speed Graphic cameras in the early 20th century. It served as a metal handle and held the flash parts in place. It gained additional popularity, beginning in the late 1970s, due to its modified usage in the original Star Wars films as Luke Skywalker's lightsaber handle (Star Wars: A New Hope, and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back). It is now sought after by graflex enthusiasts as well as Star Wars fans alike. Note the flash unit itself is not up for bid. This auction is for a drawing.
